Why does everyone insist on photos so large that you cannot see what the OP wants us to see. I'm I the only one that finds this frustrating. I'd like to help the OP but do not know what he is referring to in the photos.

See the shelf-like doubling on the P mintmark? Classic sign of machine doubling. Left the mint that way but very common and generally no additional value.
MD
Machine doubling on the image and mm.... No added value... Cheers, RickO
It has Doubling or a weird line from chin to back of head and up and down the hair in back also on the lapel!
1995 for comparison sorry only date i had close to 1996

Still Mechanical Doubling
Let's pull out the old Victrola so we can pay the broken record once again...."flat and shelf-like"...
Here is pic of 1995 nickel to compare . i dontr > @JBK said:
Did you read what I wrote? I listen to what people say on these forums and most are helpful. I do my best to look for the answer myself , if I cant find it I ask here first since this is where a lot of people with true knowledge in this area are. Ty
"It has Doubling or a weird line from chin to back of head and up and down the hair in back also on the lapel!"
Ty, that line is also the result of the mechanical doubling. Your coin has a fairly strong and even mechanical doubling strike, where multiple areas of the design are affected. The mintmark is one of the best areas of focus where this type of doubling can show up best (a doubled die on earlier coins does not typically have doubling on the mintmark).
Good eye... keep on looking. There are good ones out there to be found.
The answer is almost always covered by these questions:
1) Is there a known doubled die for that date/MM? If yes, then compare to pics (feel free to post those if you can't match them up yourself).
2) Is the doubling flat and shelf-like?
You are no longer a newbie here - the advice has been given by many people on many threads. You should be an expert on MD by now. Your example is a little extreme due to the extent of the MD on the portrait, and I'd be interested in seeing it if it was posted it in that regard.
On a general note, I read most threads on the Forum. I learn a ton of things by doing that. Some people (and I am not necessarily saying this applies to you) only start threads and read the answers on those threads only. There is probably a new thread on doubling every day on the forum.
I see no die doubling, might be a bit of ...........................what Mr. Weinberg said.
