1975 d nickel error?

As stated I guess the missing letters on reverse For Monticello are from grease issues ? Is this considered an error ? Its a beat up coin but still interesting never seen this much missing. Any info on these type errors if it is an considered an error? TY

    Die fill error.

Looks like the reverse was struck with a grease-filled die.

    Minor filled die error.

I would say no added value as there
are many other much better examples of this
    type on Nickels to obtain.

Keep it as an interesting conversation
piece, but it's not a premium coin, imo.

Instead of a grease-filled die, could it be the result of metal flow not allowing MONTICELLO to be struck up? Being so close to the steps/building, which require a relatively fair amount of metal, it's possible that metal flowed into the steps and not into the lettering. Either which way, still worth a nickel.

No, the 'roughness' of that area in question is not
smooth like a weakly struck coin would show.

It's not a weak strike coin.

Also appears to have coin counting/wrapping machine damage to reverse.
