First, thanks to @MrEureka for seeing fit to place this coin in my collection.

Having arrived today and seeing it in hand, I can say that this is truly an amazing coin, both from the standpoint of history and quality. This piece was found in the estate of a British collector who assembled it post WW2. Despite having never been to Chile, this coin somehow ended up with him. His daughter took the coin to Antiques Roadshow in the UK where it was identified and referred to DNW for sale in 2016.

This is either the 14th or 15th piece extant depending on your count in the census and a pinnacle for my collection. Current grade N58, off to PCGS for hopefully an MS61/62 which I think it deserves.

Great looking coin. Congrats. As for the grade, the fields may reveal more about whether a 61 or 62 is warranted than slight flatness at the high points. Hope the cross goes well for you

Exactly, that was my thinking is suggesting the coin could go MS.

Dang! How I've missed your posts. Many of y'all, in truth. This is why I had to stay away for so long. I log on for a "quick look" and an hour passes. Thanks for posting! Lovely coin. Fields and detail look great considering. I can picture myself standing there in front of the mountain watching the sun set. Much better than my current view.
