My pocket piece is a rosary given to me by my mom. I'm weird and can't have anything in the same pocket as the rosary. The other pocket holds my keys, change, etc.
Never really did a pocket coin. Usually keep things in my pocket to a minimum.

Agree. I have that "no acitol" disease so I keep my pants up by keeping my pockets empty.
I've been carrying this morgan for about 12-13 yrs now.

This is as close as I get. Not in my pocket all that often, if I can help it, but it pretty much goes where I go.

2014 holed dime. 10th anniversary present from my wife.
IMO ... That's excellent.
I carry this.....Cheers, RickO

Until I saw Shaun's post above, I never even considered this a pocket piece. It's a game token from an iconic ice cream place in Wildwood, NJ. This has been on my key chain for so many years I can't even guess. It was about 30 years ago at the State Firemen's Convention me and a buddy went there for lunch, hungover after a hard night of drinking. They sat us by this little indoor waterfall. Even though the place was noisy, the noise from the waterfall was making our heads pound and we asked to be moved. It's something we laugh about often and this is a memento of that trip.

I don’t keep a pocket piece. I hate things in my pockets. However, I’ll share this pocket piece, which was either my grandfather’s (Pa) or my great grandfather’s (Bamp). 1901 O Morgan dollar.

I have several pocket pieces, depending on what I'm wearing, and this is my latest addition. It isn't too clear in the pic, but the surface is already exhibiting a hint of darker tones in some areas and a variety of color.
I don't have pics, but I carry and use a Proof Ike from1977 as my ball marker when I play golf..

This 1891-S Morgan is not my pocket piece. But, it sure looks like somebody used it as a pocket piece at one time.
I don't usually carry a pocket piece. But today when I took my dog on one of his daily walks, I wanted to take a coin with me to look at. I put this old beat up peace dollar in a plastic holder, and put it in my pocket. So while my dog was sniffing around, I could look at my coin. After I got home, I put the coin away.
I see that I'm not the only one who puts beater silver dollars into capsules to pocket carry them.
I just feel guilty having these rolling around in my pocket against my keys, etc.
My "table goblin" is keeping an eye on how I treat my silver . . . . .

Yep! I can keep it in the palm of my hand, and my pocket and not worry about any additional damage. Even if I drop it on the ground!
I realize that I am only the caretaker of this coin, and that I must keep this coin in the condition that I received it in, so future generations may enjoy it.
The latest to join my "pocket carry" rotation. There is a story behind what led me to start with this one, but I'll leave that for another thread.

That’s almost insulting. But since it’s not my coin, my money or my business...that’s really cool. I have a strong affinity for 1879. Ok, and I might be a little jealous.

I've been carrying this since they were first released.

It is kind of tough to see from the image, but it is very well worn.....maybe the worst known Prezzie Dollar?
One can only hope, I suppose.

Separate pockets, of course. You NEVER mix gold and silver in the same pocket...
USAF (Ret) 1974 - 1994 - The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. Remembering RickO, a brother in arms.
Not my pocket piece. I bought it this way. Sure looks like somebody used it as a pocket piece once upon a time.

My pocket pieces are a 1971 P Ike, a Teddy Roosevelt inaugural medal, a Denver Mint medal from a mint set. Been carrying them for about 7 or 8 years. They all started out as mint state. Latest addition is a Chinese counterfeit 1893-CC that I picked up on Amazon for $2 to see how good they were getting at fakes. Carrying it so that I have it next time I go to a coin shop to have them test it on a sigma to see if it reads silver.

A ton of super neat pieces here! Since I’m a girl and pocket pieces are that practical never

mind uncomfortable I bought a Ron Landis piece that was his pocket piece for years. Looks pretty cool.

Some interesting pocket pieces for sure. Some are expected, but some are not.
Here are the ones that I rotate through. The top 3 pieces represent my grandparents. The Walkers represent my parents. The first 2 Kennedy's are me and my wife and the last 2 Kennedy's are my sister and daughter.

The key to using an Ike dollar as a ball marker is to put the dollar in front of the ball when you mark it and put the ball in front of the dollar when you put it back. Casually re-mark your ball a few times like that and before you know it, you can turn any putt into a tap-in!

All had been cleaned or otherwise doctored in some way, so they are in my pocket now.

One piece I turned into a pocket piece was a satin finish Daniel Carr KOTCT medal I had stupidly scratched . . . .
.

I figured the only way to "recover" was to turn it into a "circulated " piece, so I carried it around in a pocket full of clad and silver coinage for a few weeks . I even buried it in moist dirt for a week or two as well.
I'm very pleased with how that turned a disaster into quite a presentation piece.
