Look nice but will they be of interest to collectors?
Looking for a release date which is strangely missing from the Mint page. Hmmm??

Well, the event is certainly worth of commemoration.
As for the coins, there are so very many iconic images of WWII....... the flag raising at Iwo Jima, the USS Arizona, the Kiss in Times Square, Normandy, P-51s, Battleship and Aircraft carriers, concentration camps, Sherman Tanks, the Jeep...... I would have expected something like that on the coins.
One nice eagle, a bunch of vegetables, and a tiny bit of sunshine.... It all seems a little underwhelming next to the pivotal conflict of the 20th century.
Found the release date. November 9th.

Along with this info:
WASHINGTON (PRWEB) SEPTEMBER 02, 2020
Today, the United States Mint (Mint) is officially announcing the designs for the 2020 End of World War II 75th Anniversary Coin and Medal Program. The designs will be featured on a 24-karat gold coin and a silver medal. Images of the coin and medal are available here.
The common obverse (heads) design depicts an eagle in flight grasping an olive branch, symbolizing peace, in its right talon. The design is inspired by the 1945 version of the Great Seal of the United States, which portrays the eagle facing right toward the olive branch. Inscriptions are “LIBERTY,” “1945,” and “WORLD WAR II.” Mint Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) artist Ronald Sanders created this design, which was sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Phebe Hemphill.
The common reverse (tails) design echoes the sun element on the obverse of the 1945 World War II Victory Medal. The sun depicted on that medal has, 75 years later, risen to noon day brilliance. It shines on the olive branches. Inscriptions on the gold coin are “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “75th ANNIVERSARY,” “2020,” “AU 24K,” “1/2 OZ.” and “$25.” The inscription on the silver medal is “75th ANNIVERSARY.” AIP artist Donna Weaver created this design, which Mint Medallic Artist Renata Gordon sculpted.

Uninspiring.

Releasing these two WW2 commemoration coins so close together will hurt sales of both. It is asking a lot of collectors to pony up for two 1 oz. Gold items days apart. Add just before the Christmas shopping season and boy howdy your wallets are gonna take a major hit.
I agree that releasing these so close together could hurt sales. Note that the coin is actually 1/2 oz. And maybe those that miss out on the low mintage eagle (or flip it) will have more finances to go for the Nov 9th release.
I like the gold on this one
D'oh Thanks for the correction.
I am not interested in the medals.... Just the ASE...likely will not be able to get that due to the crush of ordering. Cheers, RickO
When I envision the end of WWII olive branches are not the first thing that comes to mind.
I'd rather see a portrayal of the sailor kissing the nurse in street in New York.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Perhaps I overlooked it... but is there any mention on the mintage limit on the medals/set/gold?
