sometimes i think about cards that could have been, but never were.
I sure wish these cards had been made:
1983 Tiffany Boggs, Gwynn and Sandberg
82 TT of the three above.
84 TT Puckett and Clemens
84 Donruss RR of Puckett and Clemens
54 and 55 topps Mantle
there are so many more, but those are a few to start
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

1971 Topps Super Nolan Ryan
1967 Topps Allan Lewis
1956 Patricio Scantlebury
1956 Vibert Clarke

good call on the Ryans. i hadnt thought of the Supers
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
I think it would have been great had Topps continued with the mini set after 1975. we could have had mini rookies of Murray, molitor, Ozzie, Rickey...
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
1983 topps Willie Stargell.
Donruss and Fleer gave him an 83 card but not topps for some reason.
wow
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Major_League_Baseball_players_from_Panama
1955 Bowman Koufax, Killebrew and Williams.
1967 Topps Seaver/Ryan RC. Would be IMO Top 10 Hobby Card.
Kiss me twice.....let's party.
Topps Stan Musial from 1952-58.
1986 Topps Traded Larkin
There's some great guys who make customs, so why not have the cards created? This one was from @alifaxwa2, a 5x7 Rookie Year auto version ...
Tom Brady 2000 Topps Chrome + Refractor parallel.

1958-1968 Topps Basketball.
Stargell retired right after the 1982 season so there was really no reason to make a 1983 Topps card of him. It was nice that Fleer and Donruss did so but Topps didn't typically make cards of recently retired players, even players of Stargell's level.
In the spirit of the discussion I'd say a 1978-79 OPC WHA Wayne Gretzky rookie. Of all years for OPC to stop making WHA cards! (They were originally produced between 1972-73 and 1977-78.)
Also 1950 and 1951 Bowmans of Stan Musial. He famously didn't have Topps cards (until 1958) because he was loyal to Bowman but why in the heck were those two missing between his 1948 and 1953 cards??
1954 Topps Satchel Paige
1967 Topps Sandy Koufax
1974 Topps Willie Mays (yes, he has a World Series card, but missing the base issue)
1975 Topps Al Kaline (yes, he has a highlight card, but missing the base issue)
1977 Topps Hank Aaron
You are so right about these Bradys. Do you think they would be more desirable than the Bowman/Bowman Chrome?
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
an 1985 topps USA card of Will Clark would have been fantastic as well. I think the reason they didnt had to do with college eligability though
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
nice

Yes but I think that Contenders would still be THE rookie for Brady. I think that a Topps Chrome Refractor rookie would be #2.

1972-73 OPC Hockey included an insert set of the Team Canada players from the Canada-Russia series. Would have been nice to have a parallel set of the Russian players too.
!984 topps Warren Moon
I've never thought about Boggs, Gwynn, and Sandberg in the 82TT. Can you imagine the desirability and value of that set? Wow. I would think it would be the ultimate set of the 80's.

1981 Topps Coca Cola Steve Garvey would have been very cool. He was a major star at the time, so I've never been quite sure why he wasn't featured.
If you like Topps Stargell @Darin ... 2 graded for the base and 5 for IA super tough ones...
Wish there was a total Blackless Ripken $$$
How about an 1986 fleer John Stockton.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
1987 OPC Brett Hull in a Flames sweater
1989 OPC Mark Recchi
Love your list! As an 80s and early 90s guy, here are a few more I wish existed...

1977 Jackie Slater
I can't believe that @JoeBanzai hasn't said 1957 Topps Harmon Killebrew yet.
Kellogg's cards of Hank Aaron
I have no clue why they didn't do 82 TT of those three - especially Boggs and Sandberg. Sandberg played 156 games in 1982! Boggs played 104. They certainly should have been included in that set.
By the same token, although Baseball Cards magazine did a fake one, we should have gotten an 83 TT of Don Mattingly.
Take it a little further, imagine if Fleer had included Robinson in the 1987-88 Fleer set when he was the #1 pick in the 87 draft. Even though he had to finish his obligation to the Navy first, having an 87 Fleer rc would have made a great set even better.

85/85 OPC Patrick Roy. Roy and Lemieux rookies in the same set would have been insane.
Main collecting focus is Patrick Roy playing days 85/86-02/03, expect 1/1, National/All-Star stamped cards.PC Completion: 2,548/2,952; 86.31% My Patrick Roy PC Website:https://proy33collector.weebly.com
I wish there was a 1980 Topps In Memorial card of Thurman Munson. What about a ‘51 Bowman DiMaggio? Or a ‘52 Topps card of him? As some pointed out earlier all the missing Stan Musial cards from the ‘50’s would have been awesome. Why was there no ‘34Goudey Ruth card? He’s in their ‘33 & ‘35sets. How about a ‘38 Goudey Gehrig? A 1915 Cracker Jack Ruth would be amazing.
1983 topps tiffany would have been amazing to collect as a whole set.
Zeenut Ted Williams
T206 Joe Jackson and Connie Mack
1934 Goudey Babe Ruth
1935-36 Diamond Stars Ruth and Gehrig
1939-41 Play Ball Bob Feller
1950-51 Bowman Joe DiMaggio
1952-53 Topps Ted Williams and Stan Musial
1954-55 Topps Mickey Mantle
1963 Topps Pete Rose single (not multi-rookie)
1966-67 Topps Nolan Ryan
1973 Topps Dave Winfield
1978 Topps Ozzie Smith
1982 Topps Tony Gwynn
1957-1969 Topps "Roberto" Clemente instead of "Bob" Clemente. HIS NAME WAS NOT BOB!!!!!
Steve
technically there is a '54 topps mantle. was never distributed in packs. just in the second sports illustrated magazine ever though, which is kinda cool,
1960 Ted Williams , and 1962 Maury Wills
Been said before but Id love a
Single card
1963 Fleer Pete Rose Rookie
Maybe
1966 Topps Football Butkus and Sayers
Would have made that set actually a hit.
It's not so much that the cards weren't made for me, but they were made without the AS designation. 79 Topps Freddie Patek, 78 Richie Zisk, 75 Reggie, etc. Those would have been some cool cards IMO. The same happened with Topps football in 1976 as well. I don't know why.
That reminds me.
1977 Mark van Eeghen Topps with the 1,000 yarder icon.
Sandberg was inexcusable, but Boggs, Gwynn and Mattingly were understandable omissions. It seems like Topps' cutoff for the traded checklists was mid-June, and none of those guys were established in the majors until the All-Star Break.
T206 (full distribution), T205, T207 - Honus Wagner
1934 Goudey - Gabby Hartnett
1935 Diamond Stars - Gabby Hartnett
1935 Diamond Stars - Lou Gehrig
1952 Topps Ted Williams
1955 Topps - Roy Campanella
1962 Topps Maury Wills
I wish Kelloggs had made a 3D card of Cal Ripken Jr.

craig- I love Eddie Murray's 78 rookie, its one of my favorites. Just a really nice looking card.
If he had a 77 rookie it might have been one of those 4 player rookie cards like Andre Dawson
and not look near as good as the 78.
1964 Topps Giant Pete Rose.
Steve
that '54 topps mantle in the full si yankee team sheet:
