Neat new Mexico Portrait 8 Reales variety - 1796 G(R/A)ATIA

After noticing the anomaly in the recent Stacks BKingdom Collection sale, I spent a few hours going through hundreds of 1796's in various online archives looking for a matching die. A PCGS example was found by a "Coins" Discord user VTJedi and i was able to confirm the die pair and start identifying some die markers. I sent a note to Brad Yonaka with my findings and he agreed that it is likely a repunched R/A because of how specific the geometry is.

I have another neat one I'm researching now that could be also something new and will post when i find some more definitive examples.
Would love to hear the group's thoughts on this.

I have not, unfortunately. I'm looking forward to the presentations being uploaded to the Newman Numismatic Portal by Mid-Sept or thereabouts.
