    I'd like 10 1883-S please, but only if they're really MS65.

Very cool! Is this from 1978? I see they give comparison prices from 1968 and a "present of increase in Ten years".

For those who collected at this time, what did think of these prices at the time?

I have some fliers from one of the GSA sales.

These old ephemera items are great, and probably worth a few bucks to a collector or dealer who has Redfields.

Put me in for 10 DMPL's also. Found one on Ebay in 65 with a BIN of $32.5k, molted toning, not that attractive imo. Imagine one in full blown black and white 65 DMPL!

Thanks for posting this. Wonder how they discovered that there was loot behind the wall?

Note was left to heirs behind the wall. "Wealth that cannot be found ,cannot be taxed." Or some thing like that. Interesting character. Worth millions and wore grubby overalls and drove a old truck. :)

1887s complete with basement peach stains

I think I have Redfields finger print :)

Very cool. I’ve had my eye on Redfield dollars for years. I just haven’t been able to pull the trigger...... yet.

I have never seen this brochure, even though they were selling these while I was working at Coin World.

Note the hype on "collection." Paramount, which was a large advertiser at the time because it handled a lot of world modern issue gold and Proof sets from the Franklin Mint and other places, always called it "the Redfield Collection" in press releases that it sent us. Editor Margo Russell always insisted on calling it the "Redfield Hoard" in stories, even after Paramount politely asked her personally not to. She did not cave.

I did not see this at the time... was in sort of a hiatus regarding coins at that time. Living in Puerto Rico, about to relocate back to Phoenix...a lot of stuff in storage. Wish I had seen it... would likely have purchased some...Cheers, RickO

I spent some time in PR while in the Air Force. Mayaguez, Ponce, Ramey Air Field, etc. Never found one coin to buy while I was there. I think I did keep some casino chips.
