It's tougher than other series' to find these with nice original skin and an even toning. I'm not attempting to build a set, but just love early half dollars so jumped on this when I saw it. GTG if you'd like. Thanks

I'll guess AU58, but will readily admit that the wear on and around the knee might not be considered wear in an in-hand examination by a grader. I like the flecks of retained dirt on the piece.

I really like that one. How about MS62.

Nice civil war date.

Very nice. I’m thinking 55.

Very nice coin, although I'm not certain it's 100% original. AU58 seems like the appropriate grade.
I find it a very appealing coin, but...that mark on the viewers left, behind Liberty I find disturbing.

I agree with most that the coin is AU... 58 likely....a very nice coin that will serve well as a collector piece.....Probably want something better if building a display set. Cheers, RickO
I also feel AU58 would be a fair grade for the coin. I truly like it. Good pickup. Congrats.

I think it looks 58 also, however it’s in a 55 holder. I have an 1858 50c in a PCGS AU55 Slab that doesn’t have the eye appeal of this one. Maybe I’ll try to submit for a reconsideration one day. Thanks for the comments. Happy Friday
58, great coin.

@WinLoseWin its an AU55, I posted that a couple days ago but it must have been overlooked. Thanks
I saw it, so you’re not crazy. (I am)
Hard to believe I could not see it. I scanned a couple of times looking for your icon and missed it. My brain may have been expecting an image and ignored it.
