This showed up on my FB feed today. This can’t be legal, can it? Does the TPG know this website has pictures of their slabs on the webpage? Sheesh, I know buyer beware but there must be many unsophisticated buyers losing money on this crap.

i can't say whether or not pcgs/ngc know this specific site exists but they are well aware many sites do.
if it represents itself to be a united states coin (any dated legal tender) and does not have the word copy in a specific way that is easy to see, it is not legal to sell. i doubt many get prosectued but it would be violating another federal law by shipping across state lines. some exclusions do apply. made before 1972 or something close to that date would be one.

One of many, many counterfeit sellers out there.
TurtleCat Gold Dollars
The fake 1872 trade obverse cracked me up. Looks like they combined the obverse of the trade dollar with a seated liberty and a Indian princess head and turned the shield into a globe.

There are tons of these adds for counterfeit coins on Fakebook....oops I mean Facebook.
Their links to report them don't do anything other than hide the add from you.
Those are some pretty terrible fakes. Like legit. Who tf came up with half of them? Their more like new freaking coins.
We here only approve of fakes and fantasies produced and distributed by our own members.

@Kliao I think they tried to copy this pattern.
Interesting.... never seen it before. Now that I know that the pattern is real I want one and they aren't cheap
