Thoughts on this "napkin" experiment.

Note: I purchased this already slabbed so I'm assuming it was a "napkin" experiment. It intrigued me due to the textile-like dimples even though I know it's not true bag toning.

Textile toning, waffle mailer toning, crescent toning are all being done by the toning doctors. The only toned ASE’s that I trust are the PCI toned examples. Even those are being cooked in the oven while still in the PCI holders. Those will exhibit intense color spots different from the rest of the color on the coin. Lot of money to be lost by the uninformed.
I bought it simply because I liked the pattern. How it got there wasn't my concern.
Meh.
It’s your money. You can set fire to it in the street if you so desire.
While no doubt many people are doctoring the coins, sometimes there is serendipity. I found a 1984 onza that I misplaced who knows when. I hadn’t seen it in years but when I found it the colors were amazing.

Agree! It happened to me after my wife moved the cat litter boxes near some ASEs I was stashing. After a couple years I found them and they were spectacularly toned
I like the OPs coin. It's better than seeing milk spots!
This is just crazy to me. When I send a perfectly naturally toned light tan/brown not really attractive but neutral Merc that was in an album or envelope to PCGS it comes back QC. It’s all just beyond my comprehension. I have seen so many consistency problems lately.

The fiber texture is as distracting as a latent fingerprint IMO. Do you think it appeared after it was holdered? Peace Roy

It will sell.
PCGS liked this coin and I imagine CAC would green bean it.

There were some folks discussing Taco Bell Napkins a while back.

TBH, it's not really worth getting it CAC'd. I don't think the stick would bring an added value.
It is what it is regardless of any grading co liking it or not. Remember one thing, market acceptable is what controls the cash.

CAC does not accept most moderns or bullion. Won't offer an opinion.
