Interesting how many are gold. For a counterfeiter who is altering real gold coins, that is quite a bit of overhead.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
I have been reading NGC's counterfeit detection articles for years. Collectors should look through the site mentioned in the OP.
RMR: 'Wer, wenn ich schriee, hörte mich denn aus der Engel Ordnungen?'
CJ: 'No one!' [Ain't no angels in the coin biz]
Interesting read. I wonder if this analysis was expanded to type vs. specific date if there would be a dramatic reshifting in order. For example Portrait 8R's as a whole.
Latin American Collection
Can see the first page but not 2 through 17. However, I will take exception with the "most" counterfeited. On the first page is an 1879cc Morgan. Okay I get that there are counterfeits of that date/mm out there but there certainly are more prevalent examples than that one. It, the 79cc, is not seen that often as compared to many others.
Maybe I just don't see them?

Lance, thanks for the link. It's really good. Great source of reference material on so many topics.
it doesn't look like the page changes but it does. took me a couple minutes before i caught on. just in case you aren't having that issue, here is the link to page 2. just change the number in the url if it won't change for you. browser vs broswer. mac vs pc vs android etc. who knows
when you get free time, well worth peeling down through the pages to look for specific ones to your interest.
