You crazy coin geeks...

Lol. How many of you crazy coin geeks, like myself, find yourself occasionally going through your kids, grandkids or families piggy banks/coffee cans, while visiting them? Sorry, I admit, I am guilty! Mainly, for two reasons. One, the thrill. Second, to help the owner of these containers financially,as well as, to teach them what to look out for and put aside. I know, once a coin geek, always a coin geek, right? Pictured is my 5 yr. Old grandson's first good keeper coin I found in his piggy bank. Lol.

I do it all the time! Sometimes my grandmother will put aside her loose change just for me to look through it. I've found some silver coins in there. It's always fun to search and she is impressed when I sell one of her silver quarters for $4 . Even she has been on the lookout for coins like that. Nice find!

I agree 100%
Hopefully he will pass it on to his grandson
Now you should "seed" his bank with some silver or an off center error. Then pick them out in front of him. Maybe it will light an early fire in collector interest. You never know.
I have not done that.... Grandkids are all grown now... maybe when the 'great' grand kids come along... Cheers, RickO
