I was looking at some of my registry pics. Never noticed this before. Is this just MD or could it be a D/D?

War nickel RPMs have a large following, perhaps because of the silver content of the coins but more likely becáuse the larger mintmarks make them easier to see and identify.
This is a fairly well-known and somewhat common RPM but is also collected by die stage.
If the coin were in my inventory and raw, I would price it at about $30-35.
Slabbed as a 66, I would ask $50-75.
Now.....getting those numbers is the hard part......

Yes, a big fan of the Wartime's! For many reasons, as you mentioned (many Varieties). The History behind the silver contents, the short run, the very peculiar Mint Mark location, as well as the SIZE! Lol. Also, the beauty of the appearance from the 35% Silver. I think there is a different look because of the silver. The best Variety in the Series would have to be the highly sought after, 1943/2 p. Very cool looking coin. Good thread!

I've had this one a few years. I never noticed the RPM. I was looking at joeycoins thread of his wartime Jeff and it just made me glance at mine a little closer. Lol I guess I should start getting into the habit of getting the loupe out and disecting these a little better. Lol Thanks for the help and comments. Just put a little label on the slab so now I'll know. Lol
