Hoping to find that elusive 67 or better? Here's what Rick Tomaska says in his Kennedy/Franklin book about this year.

Are you tempted to open this roll?
I think I would be!
Yes! That's why I bought it. Lol. Spent $25, so I figure the worst I can do is be out a measly $15. I think it's worth the shot, no? Besides, this is the joy of the hunt! I'll keep you guy's posted, if you're interested?

Did the mint actually release rolls? I always thought mint output was bags.
Smitten with DBLCs.

Too Late. I already completed opening. Found ONE coin that has potential, maybe 66/67? He'll be taking an over night bath. Will post tomorrow, Thanks.

Likely from a promoter, bank or business trying to cash in (pun intended) on Bicentennial fever.
For those of us old enough to remember, the Bicentennial was shamelessly milked and by 1975 I know I was sick of it and it hadn't even happened yet.
The coins were cool, and a must have back then though!
These were the days of proof/mint sets only....no revolving door of designs.
The 1975/76 Bicentennial coins were a novelty because designs had not been changed since 1964....unless you count the introduction of the Ike in 1971.
Those two things were about as exciting as new coinage could have possibly been.
Couldn't even wait to get home, heh?
He never can.
I've seen more pictures of his car's interior than his coins.
Are you guy's trying to say that,"I'm like a KID in a Candy Shop?"
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.Just don’t take a bite! Freeze a bag or roll of of chocolate coins to take with you if you’re tempted
I hope the gem of the bunch comes back like you want it to. Let’s go 67 on the ‘76-‘76!
Good luck with your single coin. I know it is marks and a lack of blazing luster that will hold these clad halves back from a superior gem MS67 (pcgs) grade.
And sometimes the car is more interesting...
Good luck with your roll of coins...and the candidate you have selected. Look forward to the picture. I have a bunch of those coins I put away back then.... all from change at the time. Have not looked at them for years...Though I am sure there are no 67's there. Cheers, RickO
OK guy's, here ya go! A Candidate or not? Maybe, too much chatter near his cheek? Warning:Many pics.
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line. Not worth the postage much less the $40 in fees, but I'm sure you will send it anyway so good luck.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line. With so much chatter on the head, cheek and neck that looks 64.
Good News, I hope? I just received a PM from a so called expert on this particular Kennedy. He said he is the one that sold the MS 67 Kennedy to Hansen (The coin pictured, TV Photo). He said, my coin is definitely a MS 66, maybe has a real shot at a MS67? Only if those hits aren't really as vivid in hand? Hmmm?
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line. These big coins are especially susceptible to marks.
I thought most high grade modern MS coins came out of mint sets?
Please don’t “mess up” my Pop 1/0 coin!
Wondercoin
When assessing coins from images, I’d use the word “definitely” only on very rare occasions. Calling that coin 66 or better, is not one of those occasions.
Mark Feld* of Heritage Auctions*Unless otherwise noted, my posts here represent my personal opinions.
I think this one tells the story. Lots of stuff on the cheek, hair & neck.
My dumb guess would be not a chance at a 67.
MS63, perhaps MS64 and stop listening to the guy who said this coin is an MS66.
That coin is a MS 66 all day by NTC standards.
Good luck if you submit the coin for grading.
No guts, no glory.
If you receive a 67 or higher grade good for you. You can bask in the glow that comes with success.
If you do not receive a lofty grade the education you receive from having the coin graded by our host will also have value, maybe even enough to offset your out of pocket cost.
I'd take a guess at 64. No higher. Rim dings, cheek chatter, head chatter, neck chatter, date chatter. etc.
bob
Perhaps you can get enough people here to bet on the grade to offset your cost of submission. See if that guy who said it’s definitely a 66 will chip in $20 if it goes lower. It looks like a nice coin to me, and I would guess higher than 64 but not 67. There are literally millions of these coins sitting around. A 67 wouldn’t be so valuable if it were easy to make.
Lots of people seem pretty sure of their grading guesses. See if they’ll put money behind it!
