Well, I stated that I own this one, its mine, now if its a phony the question will be when I mail it back to the person I got it from will they be honorable enough to make it right.
So, what's your key counterfeit give away's on the svdb?
The overall look of the coin just looks off. The serifs on the mintmark are suppose to be parallel which they aren't. The bottom serif looks more rounded.
Where did you buy the coin? If its from eBay and not over their money back guarantee policy you can get a refund for the coin.
Not ebay it was an individual so, when the helpful comments play out for the penny it looks like I'll mail it back to him with a note that it looks to be counterfeit and is worthless as a collectible.
Then I guess I'll find out how honorable of a person they are. There is nothing else for me to do.
I had a fairly long reply to "TomB" last comment, but somehow it vanished? I may have hit something wrong in the edit option, it vanished to fast for anyone to read it.
I don't have time to redo it right now, maybe later.
But, I'm here to LEARN, that's why I have questions, Not Advice.

Before sending it back I would contact the seller and see what their response is. Chances are if the guy is honorable they’ll refund your money.

just wanted to say, thanks for uploading good enough quality images to make these determinations VERY easy. i'm beating a dead horse but as others have said, all of the coins posted are obvious counterfeits. i could see how a couple of them could fool novices. i've been at this pretty intense for over a decade but still remember many of the challenges that i barely overcame to get to the point i am at now. counterfeit detection isn't for the faint of heart. it is a specialty within a specialty.
be careful with the individual if you don't know them well.

Thank You,
You've been where I'm at and remember what its like to get to the knowledge level you are on this subject.
One thing about the owner of the coins, I never indicated I was INTERESTED personally in his coins, he's not indicated to me he's leading towards some kind of a money deal, he knows that I don't have the money to buy anything like those. His real interest (hobby wise) is vintage musical instruments, which I KNOW nothing ABOUT LoL!
I meant for ALL my topic's to flow along like my 1955-D penny thread is, check it out (Comments Welcoome) https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/comment/12695311#Comment_12695311
I get that I'm the dummy here, that I can handle, but for a bit I was getting the feeling that some thought I was playing some kind of game on the forum and with the members, but I'm not like that AT ALL.
Here is my stand with the owner of the coins (early on thinking they may have been real).
If you and I knew each other, maybe not even closely, and you were telling me that you thought there was some buried treasure on your property, well I would be excited to help you excavate it and NOT want or expect any of it! I'd love to be involved in your BLESSING of a Lost & Found Treasure Trove.
Now if I found out later you just used me to dig this really big hole in your yard for the real purpose of installing a swimming pool, then you would OWE ME!! LoL!

it is difficult to discern between the 2 at first sometimes(legitimate poster/troll). gets really frustrating for the veterans sometimes. if you hadn't posted about mfeld and he had not confirmed it i probably would have skipped over the threads. i did like your lincoln mm rpm thread. i think you've made enough good posts to hopefully smooth things over with a bit of time.
posting that kind of stuff, en masse, for your first posts will put you on red alert. just the nature of the beast. be patient, post some neat stuff (unless you are only here to help out that fellow, which is obviously fine) and all should be well. we ALL are going to encounter a few scuffles/ruffled feathers. text on a screen no matter the person cannot be perfectly received by all. emoji's do help.

I have to agree, both the 16-d and S-VDB are fakes

This is JUST A POSSIBLE HEADS UP,
I'm not going to call it one way or the other.
I was running leads to counterfeit dollars,
I check out a buy from one ebay member to another, and I saw this Dollar listed.
If someone wants to look at it and deal with it however you deal with this things, just let me know if it was real or not okay?
AND NO I wasn't shopping when I found it
