Take a look inside the West Point Mint's gold and silver vault
Nearly a quarter of the U.S. government's gold sits beneath a windowless building on the campus at West Point.

I've been in that room - with Dave Camire from NGC - and we
got to hold those large gold bars - about 65 pounds or so, as
I recall. (this was in Nov. 2009 and yes, I have photos, but can't
find 'em right now)
That huge scale was there (originally from the Philly Mint)
and there were some 2010 ASE Green boxes piled along the
wall, but no gold Eagles......just lots of those large gold bars !

Super wow..... I think of how thrilled I have been when finding a 6 gram nugget...holding a bar of gold like that would be amazing.... Cheers, RickO
'We?'... don't know what you mean, unless you
thought that 'we' both had to hold the bars
at the same time.
We were able to hold them by ourselves.

Weight of a standard "good delivery" gold bar is approximately 400 troy ounces or 27.5 pounds. Moving around 65 lb gold bars would be quite the load.
it's pretty certain that nobody's gonna just walk away with one of them stuffed in their pocket!!
I think he was referring to the title of the thread.

I wonder how much Aztec Gold is in there? The US government took it from a cave complex in Mt. Fortunio in New Mexico a rancher discovered in the 1940's. Interesting story. Google it.

Correct
The closest I’ve ever been to that is being at the Bank of England museum where they have a gold bar you can lift that’s around 30 pounds. It was pretty neat. They had a deposit slip of George Washington’s from before the war as well. Worth a visit if you’re ever in London.

OK, thanks for that clarification.
I'd say "what do you mean WE, Kimosabe' ?

Long ago, the Sky Brothers genetically engineered humans to be instinctively compelled to mine, refine, and store gold in secure underground vaults.

Imagine a pallet of red monster boxes, with 500 oz. of AGE's in each box!
