PCGS Members Only Show Philadelphia???

pruebaspruebas Posts: 4,560 ✭✭✭✭✭

I asked in the pinned thread, but got no reply, so let's try here.

Is the PCGS Member's Only Show in Philadelphia on?

I do not see it on the PCGS website. And both PCGS and Legend mention a Las Vegas Member's Only Show that same week (next week!).

I would call PCGS Customer Service, but that on-hold "music" would cause nightmares for the rest of the week.... :#

There is one in Philly, yes, I believe in early October.

I may attend. It is only about a 45 minute drive from my home in Greenville, DE.

The venue has been changed, and no show will be happening in Philadelphia.

As of today, see the following:

That is a bummer, but understandable.

@cardinal I saw that page as well, but was unsure if it was up to date as there seemed never to be any announcement that Philadelphia (in August) was canceled....

I had been holding my submission until then. I guess I need to mail it now.

I attended the Members show at the Bellagio the first week of August. It was not very well attended, with a number of dealers staying away to not risk contracting the Covid-19. (Some of the dealers are in their later years, so their caution was justified.) From what I saw, there were more members in attendance that dealers.

For PCGS and their staff, it's a short flight to Las Vegas, or even a short drive - which would trim some of the costs versus sending the staff all the way to Philadelphia in more pricey hotels. (The casinos were hurting for visitors, and the taxi drivers were starving! On my trips from the airport to the hotel, and then back, both drivers commented that during the prior week, neither of them earned more than $40 for that week! Think about THAT!) Maybe there would have been a better turnout in Philadelphia, but in these trying times, it seems prudent to not take that risk.

Well, for those who do brave the journey (and the health issues), Please post show reports for the less fortunate. Cheers, RickO

What will be ... will be.
Hopefully " Man " will end the reign of COVID very soon.
