Different direction for my Dansco Large Cent album

Since it can get ridiculously expensive to find nice problem free coins, I’m gonna try the holed variety. I know I’m not the first but it should be something fun!

A couple don’t have a date and I got them just for fun, and one has no hole, but has a naughty alteration on the back, I’m sure you know the one.

Good luck!! Should be a lot of fun. You'll be surprised what the last spot you fill will be.

Thats one way to keep the cost down and the hunt up. When you’re done with the album you could put them on a necklace.
    Good luck!

    I like your idea.
Why collect what everyone else does?

That is a fun project... @lordmarcovan did holey coins for a long time.... And yes, I know the 'altered' coin of which you speak, I have one, sent to me by another forum member. Good luck...Cheers, RickO

    Fun idea.

I sewed my holey large cent set on the back of the onetime world famous "Holey Coin Vest".

Alas, I never took a picture of that side of it, but here's what the front looked like.

As I recall, I had 'em all by date except for 1793, 1795, 1799, and 1804.

(And yep, one of mine had that same naughty alteration of which you speak.)

    ~ sigh ~

You make me nostalgic for my old holey collection, which was done purely for the joy of it, with no fuss about condition or TPG gradeability or "investment" potential, etc. I think I was a purer collector back then.

That does sound like a fun approach. I only have 2 holed pieces that I can think of. Both are related to Andrew Jackson. I like Jackson memorabilia. They were both too expensive even with the holes. I don't mind it a bit. Like them just the way they are! I like your idea. Good luck!
