Has anyone here who has their collection insured by Hugh Wood/AXA received a certified letter that their policy will be transferred to a new insurer known as XL Specialty Insurance Company upon renewal of their policy? I am very confused about this.

No but I just joined and the insurer was XL Specialty.
Are the rates reasonable? Hugh Wood had very good rates and I fear that insurance cost may be higher with this new company.
Yes. My understanding is that the name has changed, but all else is the same on our end.

That's good to hear, TomB.
I need to call and see if they have a policy that covers express mail. Tired of registered mail which takes decades

Agreed. I renewed my policy a couple of months ago, and everything was seamless.
Lance.
If you are mailing expensive items Registered Mail is the way to go. It may be slow but it's very secure. I personally will take security over expediency every time.
I hope the new company has the same high rating as Hugh Wood has. I've never had to file a claim but I understand they (Hugh Wood) are very easy to deal with. The letter I received last month seemed to be rather terse, stating I should contact my agent so it may determine what renewal terms may be proposed. I just don't like the sound of that.
They do and I use it. It works beautifully.
