I had a popup ad for Antique Coin Polish appear and I have a feeling that some unsuspecting people are going to go nuts when they find out that they ruined their heirlooms. A quick search provided LOTS of videos on the subject. Pitiful.

Oh no....There go a bunch of coins down the clean/polish drain.....Cheers, RickO
So they can be sold on eBay !
@WaterSport... Oh no... they are all over... a massive attack on coins. I am well known for my preference for non-tarnished coins... however, I do not polish or dip or clean my coins. Well, I do dip in acetone when organic substances are present, but that does not affect metals. Cheers, RickO
That's been popping up in my FB feed a LOT lately. I even shared it to my (mostly non-collector) friends as a PSA with a message about how they should never clean their coins. With all the activity with precious metals, I figure some of them may be contemplating selling off stuff they inherited or accumulated, and I'd hate for them really mess up something good they may have.
Where can I get some?
(He says sarcastically!)
Tsk how sad that is 😞
Not really clean unless they’re Brillo clean.
That's how I did it when I was a kid. BRILLO! And I was very pleased with the results.
A paste made from baking soda and a little water is the traditional method of polishing coins. If the coin has any value, DON"T DO IT!!!
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Of course that’s just a joke. Never clean a coin.
Edit, but you know that.
I WANT. I NEED SOME OF THAT STUFF! (I didn't know there was anything better than erasers.)
