Might be a good winter project to distract from all the negative news.

More like a lifetime project, than a Winter one.
What do you mean by that. Are you going to pick one error, say off-center, and then make a type set with all coins that are off-center, or are you talking about doing one coin, and get many types of errors for that denomination?
If I remember correctly, someone on the board made a Lincoln off-center set.

Or a normal type set where every coin also is an error?
I think it would be a great idea and I have considered it myself. I would probably do various errors for each type versus the same error for each type.
I’ve started a 1999 “P” broadstruck error in small ANACS holder type set
Was thinking more along the lines of type of error. example just 1 off-center, 1 lamination, 1 die cap, filled/greasy die, etc. Just a coin representative of each type of error.
That reminds me. Don't forget to always be looking down when walking through a parking lot. Lots of errors are found that way. That would be a cool error type set. An error from as many different parking lots as you can find. One from McDonald's, one from Wal-Mart, one from as many different grocery stores and auto part stores as you can find, etc. You get the idea.
Nope ...

I think you have many possibilities and any set like that would be fun to complete. It could be a few coins or a few hundred.
I found this posted on this forum by bankerbob56 to be an interesting set.

I find errors to be interesting... especially the extreme ones....However, I do not collect them....other than any I may find in change, i.e. a blank cent planchet....building an error set would be an interesting project though. Cheers, RickO
If you ask me , the 1982's cents would keep you busy for a good while.
Not errors but I've assembled a type set of doubled dies.
I have a 7070 that is 90%+ filled with clipped planchets.
The rub about an “error type set” is that there are so many ways the mint makes mistakes that just coming up with a list of potential contents is daunting. I’d bet there are a few collectors (and dealers) here who have tried, though, hopefully they’ll share their stories.

I have not but I know a collector that has.
He has the 55/55 cent, the 72/72, the 1909 DDO cent, a 7/8 TF Morgan, 1934 Peace DDO, many over dates and several off center and clips, he also has a very good counterfeit 1913 V in the book. His 7070 is full and all holes have unique coins, it is a real fun set to look at. Sorry I don't remember more of the coins in the book.
"Anyone Here Ever Assemble An Error Coin Type Set?" Yes, but with a twist.
In '18 and '19 I gathered up different errors for a box of twenty from the year 2000. I call the showcase "No QA in Y2K".
The group will be one that I can improve on as I find more appealing examples. Here are a few and a link to the full set.
