WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE MOST RAREST COIN

Why are you yelling at us?
There are coins that are unique---only one example is known to exist. Examples are the 1870-S gold $3 and the 1870-S half dime.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Welcome to the forum! I guess it depends on how you look at it. There are some proof coins with a mintage of 4 and under. Some might say the 1933 $20 coin as currently only one is legally able to be owned. Others might point out other gold coins where there’s one or two examples. So there are a number of ultra rarities. Some more desirable than others but I don’t think there is a singular rarest coin.

Sorry caps lock was on
Just to keep in mind:
Value = Supply + Demand
There are lots of "rare" coins that are not extremely valuable because not a lot of people collect them.
There are also coins that are not really "rare" but are valuable because they are in high demand.
And, of course, demand can vary over time so what is hot today might not be in as much demand tomorrow.
It is great when you can collect an area of coins or banknotes that is largely overlooked by other collectors and then one day they get real popular and you gave a collection that other people are jealous of.
I am not sure that has ever been conclusively decided. There are likely many candidates, some of which are noted above. For example, the '64D Peace dollar is not supposed to exist (although minted, then melted)...yet there are those who claim to have seen one. Cheers, RickO
