Is it possible to have wood grain effect on silver coins?

I have heard about and seen many nice coins (heck I just saw a beautiful Indian cent on CRO) and was wondering if it was normal or possble for silver. Here is my example. GTG if you want.

Certainly has that appearance... although the 'grain' appears a bit raised, not like on cents. Cheers, RickO
