How much do counterstamps effect old copper value and grade?

Take for example this old large cent:

Nice key date with some details left, but stamped on both sides, how would this effect the technical grade that old copper collectors use? Also how does it effect the value?

PMD!
Looks more like PMD to me...not a counterstamp....ICBW.... Cheers, RickO
Agree.
I wonder if it’s a gouge from when it was being recovered metal detecting.
I agree that it is not a counterstamp, but how are you differentiating between PMD and a counterstamp?
I cannot answer how it impacts the grade, but a true counterstamp would increase the value on many low value large cents, and the right one might even improve the value of a piece like this.
The particular defects in this coin detract from the value.
Hey but it's still round!
Up to $710 already!
