How much do counterstamps effect old copper value and grade?

    I agree that it is not a counterstamp, but how are you differentiating between PMD and a counterstamp?

    I cannot answer how it impacts the grade, but a true counterstamp would increase the value on many low value large cents, and the right one might even improve the value of a piece like this.

    The particular defects in this coin detract from the value.
