Yeah, that auction popped up on my screen last week while searching Jeffersons and at the same time, it read "sold" but delivery by Aug. 7 so I sent a message, is this still available and it was not. Than later saw the other auction. While the pics of the coin are a little better, I don't believe the coin is fully struck. And there's what appears to be a nick on the steps, maybe not so bad. But I have another coming in the mail.....with worse pics. lol

The early bird catches the worm. Better luck next time my friend. Either way you have more than enough terrific Jeffersons to keep you company until you snag your next big one!

The Red-Bird Ranch Seller had at one time, some war nickels that came from original rolls they were really nice!! I picked a few but missed out on the 1945-D for some reason? Nickels are nice especially the full steppers!

I have snagged a big one recently in the last couple months. A 1953-S PCGS MS65 with very nice steps, with the regular slight bridges on that notorious 4th step and a good segment of the 6th step. It ought to be worth a few thousands w/o the designation to whoever has been searching for awhile for one. Don't have pics but here is one of the seller's I gambled with. Has a nice obverse strike but a steam roller of a strike for the reverse. But number one Registry set assemblers just love owning such coins. lol
Oh, I did become a believer in the Slab-Renew scratch remover with that nasty mark over the steps. Didn't get it all but enough to improve the view.

Wow... amazing difference between the two auctions....I do not know much about Jefferson pricing, but that difference means either the low buy was an astounding find, or the high price is ridiculous. Cheers, RickO

PCGS Price Guide is $1000 for that coin in FS.

Hmmmmmmm . . . . . I hope you guys have fun with it. I have rolls of these . . have never checked for 'FS' designations. Got too many things to do rather than try for the two or three guys (ummmmmm, serious collectors I am sure . . . not guys living in Mom's basement??). I guess I am just out of touch. I like nice 39-D's . . . .42-D's, and toned, fun full sets. Been at it hard on Jeffs for years . . . have a few top-flight Danscos . . . . but just can't see myself paying a mortgage payment for a designation that people here (a good clientele) might find suspect. . . . . . .

    I hope you all do well . . .
