Friends at a local museum found this in their storage. Looks like a Medallic Arts 1960s bronze, but my google-fu failed me.
Any ideas?
We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.

If the reverse is "King And Founder - Hawaiian King - Pacific Ocean (Map Of Hawaii)" then it is Medcalf & Russell 2M-255, round, bronze, 38mm with a catalog value of $15. it also was struck in silver but there is no info as to mintage or occasion (if any, more probably a tourist item). It's an OK design for a retail medal but it is not up to MACO standards.
Rather a stern looking dude.... Give that man a Mai Tai.... Cheers, Ricko
If that does not identify it, ask the museum what it says on the reverse and the edge and the box.
Awesome, @tokenpro . They didn't send an image of the reverse. But I'll wager that's it. Thanks!

A little concerning that there are no engraver or artist initials on the obv-portrait side shown. IMO. I still like it. Peace Roy
