... and why the choice for submitting some coins is tough. I'm compelled to submit , just to test my grading skills.
On the contrary, this end of the spectrum is completely opposite of the other end. Here, I try to get the lowest grade for the highest return. Seems silly and counterproductive but somebody's got to do it.

The reeded edge is probably gone as well.

I wonder how many pockets that thing wore a hole through?
I love the remaining silhouette of the bell and moon! It could only be cooler if all the writing was worn off.
It's sort of eerie!
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Understand but don't get it.
Or how many rock tumblers, deburring machines, or other homemade wear inducing devices.
Call me cynical, but with the "bottom" pop crowd paying decent money, why not try to increase the value of common stuff like this. As long as people are paying premiums for PO-01 coins, I'm sure somebody will try to supply the market.
Just my opinion
^ "homemade wear inducing devices" ? You mean like human hands ?
Considering the hardness of clad, I wonder if it would even be possible to have natural wear of that magnitude if it was a pocket piece every day since 1976.
TurtleCat Gold Dollars
Maybe so. A large collection came in , and apparently " gramps" kept that one in his pocket. The dozens of proof and mint sets and Whitman folders were full of coins and few ( of the thousands) were similar. And forty years of handling sure will wear nickel down.
Here is one I got back yesterday:
I'm lost on this one. Just don't get it.....Oh, well!
I thought I might have a dime to match that quarter but I was off by one year.
Not bad looking!
I totally get it! Go for it and Good Luck climbing down to that elite! I too have one;

Someones lucky coin during a game or race,
took a beating. lol
Final bye product came out pretty cool looking.
I do not see the appeal of these coins (or the race to the bottom), but collectors collect all sorts of things. Have fun and enjoy your hobby....Cheers, RickO
I don't see the need for a grading set below AU, either. That's why the majority stay raw. But am always curious how low one can go. Thanks for the opinions.
Looks like our host is missing AG 03, G 04
I really dig lowballs.
I just wish my wife did too.
Maybe she does......she married you!
P.S. Just a joke. I couldn't resist. I'm sure you're a swell guy. After all she did marry you!
