Holed coins - what I do with them
Back in the "before times" I would get bust halves with holes above Liberty, turn them into necklaces and take them on various trips and place them for pictures. Any one who follows me on Instagram has seen some of those photos, but the quarantine has stopped all that fun. I've been slowly expanding the family since and have added an 1876 Trade dollar, which I wear at this time. A holed 1843 Seated dollar is on its way too.
As for the other coins, the first one is an 1809 O-107a, which is fairly scarce. It's the most worn, and has gotten more worn since I've worn it. The others are an 1811, 1823 Ugly 3, 1824, 1826, 1833, and 1835. I paid anywhere from 30 to 50 bucks each for them, but the dollar cost a bit more than that. These necklaces do get attention at some places, and many a conversation about old coins got going. I know they aren't valuable or even pretty, but in some way they do promote our hobby.
I look forward to the days they can hit the road again. Until then...

Well that is an interesting angle for coins.... I have seen people do that with other items (not coins or coin related). Perhaps you could share a few of those pictures here... Cheers, RickO
I think they're pretty cool!
Wear them.
The necklaces are nice. And....displaying them in chronological order is an impressive extra added touch.
I like the 1809.

Back when we had coin shows I would wear this vest. Nothing larger than a quarter. A couple times Lord M's hat was mentioned to me, but I rarely go east of the Mississippi anymore.

Here is a sampling of the pictures I take with the coins, a fun theme for me:
This one is while we were on a sunset sail schooner trip off Portland, Maine.
This one is on a motu(island) off Bora Bora.
This one is in front of the old New Orleans Mint.

If they hang around long enough someone will want them.
@lordmarcovan used to have some apparel with holed coinage.

My wife holed a dime for me for our 10th anniversary and I keep it on my keychain. It’s a modern one, but I think it’s cool.
I got a Merc with a hole for free in middle school and wore it for a little while. I’m just not a jewelry guy.
I like the idea of going around and taking pics with/of them.
For many of your coins they were holed for this reason originally. Home made jewelry of the times
