Instead of 2 of 10 or 1 of 20. By turning each flip 90 degrees it puts less stress on each and creates more insulation.
I’m just hoping they don’t fall all over the place when opened.

This packaging set-up is for a PCGS submittal or for your personal storage/organization? Hopefully it is for the latter.

PCGS, do you think this a problem? The alternative of having one or two bunches makes me nervous.

    Its hard to determine if the coins are housed individually in 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 mylar flips, it looks like a couple per flip. But here is the shipping instructions for raw coins;

    SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS:
House your coins individually in 2 ½" x 2 ½" mylar flips (we do not accept acrylic snap cases or cardboard and stapled coin holders). Place the coin in the inside front pouch of the flip so the openings of the flip are not exposed. PCGS highly recommends you use mylar flips when submitting your coins for grading. The inert mylar flips will be a better storage unit for your coins while they are in the grading process here at PCGS.

@oih82w8 . Gotcha. There are 20 coins and 20 flips and I pack them to the exact specs other than not having a Morgan in each one. Try putting 10 or 20 cents together and your pack comes out catty-wampus not to mention a lot of stress.
Now, have one disgruntled postal worker drop kick your package across the warehouse while you wait for the grades.

However, for educational curiosity there are a few experiments in this set. Coins mixed with deep strikes and toning but also with hits. As much as I like them I realize the latter will outweigh the grade but not the eye appeal.
    Edited: That's my disclaimer :)

Then what? Scotch tape? I think I remember you or someone mentioning that a while back and how it affected coins even in a slab.

i have no say so over that, at all. i don't recall that option on this forum format. if you are being prohibited from posting to a thread, that is either your computer/browser or a glitch in the forum software and you may need to try again.

i have no desire to censure anyone here but i do support when pcgs does it for the sanctity of the boards; even in some instances where i don't understand nor agree. ultimately we are here to share, learn, talk numismatics, socialize digitally etc.

I can't recommend anything, but I'll tell you what I do. I put each coin/medal in a standard flip, place that inside the next larger size, place that inside of a slab-size ziplock bag and, finally, put that inside of a bubble mailer. those then go into a box and I use Kraft tape to seal it.

I know it sounds OCD(just a little, right?!?) but old habits are hard for me to break. :p

I know, it isn't the first time it's happen to me. And I think it is a glitch or a timed out error. I tried twice so once my reply is approved it will post so it says.
    Thanks.

@keets Thanks for the pointer on Kraft tape. I was wondering what and where to buy it, so I could have my pkg. ready before I get to the PO.
And I agree on the packing, more is better and yours doesn't sound too unusual, referring to the shipping instructions
(please refrain from using unusual packaging) :D

Rubber bands aren't going to hurt your mylar flips, as mylar is inert. Don't use rubber bands to strap raw stacks of coins together, however as it will eventually leave a black "burn" mark.

I doubt anybody does that anymore!!

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

I actually had a proof Franklin get a black band right underneath a rubber band holding it and several other coins together. I don't use rubber bands anymore for coins - period.

This order was/still is painful. The plan was to experiment with a few toners, different years, and other coins that had really nice strikes but obviously too many other issues. The part of the plan that really failed was the 4 or 5 I really thought would 68 covering the costs of the so-called experiments. Well those come in at 66.
I'm thinking these will look great in a Whitman and possibly attaching the label and chip next to each. Thoughts?
