Guess The Grade - GB Penny

Just made a purchase from Atlas Numismatics to add to my Victoria Penny set. This is my first experience buying from Atlas with my sincerest thanks to Chris for helping me out, great company!
So I thought I would post the coin and see if anyone would like to guess the grade (without looking on the website) and make a comment.

64BN? Nice lustre there. I wish I could have pictured my '53 PT as well.

Nice clean cheek and hair details. Fields are a little rough. Not quite gem. 64 sounds about right.

Thank you for taking a look and commenting. The coin is graded by our host as MS 64 BN. I was attracted to this coin because of it's nice patina and clean portrait.

I believe, if bought over the counter in a coin shop in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England, where I bought the bulk of my penny set in1974 he would have called it a Choice AU. YMMV.

  • I think its a 65

I think you are right. I almost said something about that but I have been lectured a few time for doing so.
