Prices and Wages from 1600s to 2000s by decade

I’ve seen this brought up before on the forum and I’ve wondered myself so I went looking to see if I could find a nice summary (of sorts) of the purchasing power of money for various goods in American history segregated by decade. I found this wonderful compendium of information that provides quick access to a lot of that information. It also has wage information for the time.

Hope it helps someone out. I certainly bookmarked it...

For example, in the 1810s the prices for household furniture...

Regular Chair: $4
Bamboo Chair: $2.33
4 ft table: $12
Bureau: $25
Bed: $20

    Sears catalog 1922 - page 813:
Colt's 45-Caliber Automatic" under "Miscellaneous Police Goods" $34

Can get a Colt 1911 around $1000 today, but $34 of gold from 1922 worth over $3k.
