Strike Doubling

A great example of dramatic strike doubling on a proof quarter:
Both the seller and bidders have confused it for a doubled die, but that should not happen even with dramatic strike doubling. The hallmarks of strike doubling are still all there - low, flat & shelf-like doubling with no split serifs.

Yup, some md is strong and very noticeable and on a proof, well kinda cool. Peace Roy

Sure is. I like to save some nice examples of MD.
A good example for sure. It is good to save a few pieces such as this to use as educational tools and/or comparative standards when evaluating other coins. Cheers, RickO
I do that as well
Great Pictures!!
I split time between here and the forum ats, without a doubt the single biggest question that is asked by non collectors (far more often ats for some reason than here) is "Is this a DDO/DDR". Even when it is explained to them they will continue to argue and demand that what they have is a super valuable double die. Most are way more inclined to believe the garbage posted on etsy and youtube when it comes to this area.
