Really!!! Fowards Corporation.

Noticed I had a low tire today! I had $1.25 in change. (quarters) Air tire machine was asking $1.50. So I gathered up 3 nickels and a dime. So I went into the store and ask if I could have a quarter, please. Cashier says we cannot give out any change. I about lost it! I told her I'm giving you change than what I'm asking for. She said "sorry" I was like Wow! Anyways! I told her I need another quarter so I can air up my tire. She says Oh! Since it's for using our Air Tire machine I can do that! What?!?! OMG! What a coin shortage here in Michigan.

    If you ask they all have a button they can turn the machine on from inside. For free.

    My station knows me as a regular and always does it with a smile.

    It's a new machine. You can also use a Visa card

    In California it is illegal for gas stations to charge for tire air.

    I rarely have good luck with an air compressor that charges for use...on-cue does not charge for air...if you can find one with the air chuck.

    Gas station in South San Jose this morning had multiple rolls of cents, nickels, dimes, and quarters under the coin tray in the cash register, no shortage over here

    Buy a 12v air compressor on amazon and keep it in your car. Best investment and much more convenient.

    The secret bypass is to request courtesy air. It has worked for me across the country. I snagged a cigarette lighter type air compressor at the flea market for $4 and it works great! Peace Roy

    Not quite. It's a requirment to offer it for free if asked. Most of the machines take change- yet if you go inside and ask to have the air turned on then that request cannot be denied.

    Some stations here have a coin operated air dispenser. Others have it for free. Never tried going inside and asking to turn it on....actually, have only needed air once in the last decade. I do have a portable unit somewhere :D I guess I should put it in the car.... ;) Cheers, RickO

    I used to work for a company that owned 50+ gas stations. Air machines are not cheap. In addition to the nozzle, there's the hose and compressor that does go bad over time. And yes, they get stolen quite often, especially if the station is in a farming area. So $1.50 for air isn't unreasonable considering the cost of the machine and the maintenance involved.
