My first submission to CAC. Let's make it a contest and giveaway. Results are in.
CAC Contest
I've recently sent 10 coins to CAC for evaluation. They were received 7/14/20. The contest will involve determining what if any CAC sticker these coins will receive. From 1-10, assign passed, exceeded, not CAC. I will post the results when I get them. The closest will receive a prize package mailed to you. In the event of a tie, the first to respond with the correct or
closest answer will get the prize package. This contest will supersede my failure to host contests for my 5k and 6k
post count.

All greens except the California is a gold, and the 1919 is not stickered.

This is your first submission so you probably sent in your best chances to sticker
You will do very well on this submission. Maybe all green with the Oregon going gold

I think all the coins look pretty nice but there are two "puzzlers" for me: why an MS62 $10 and how in the heck does a guy who posts some stellar toned coins end up with blast white commems???
I want to love #10 (Texas) the most but #7 (Oregon trail) OMG it’s beautiful! (Gold).

Beautiful examples every one of them!
Nice group!
Wonderful coins. Excellent overall submission quality, IMHO.
Thanks everyone for the kind comments and optimism!
keets, I have the $10 Indian leftover from a 1909 mint set that I once had. Couldn't bear to part with it. As for the Commems, I would love to own some of those in color but the price is out of my league. Never understood the appeal of brown on a Commemorative.
Thanks, I believe these 10 are the only ones I have left that qualify and don't already have a sticker. Have a lot of modern toners that don't qualify.
Wow ... they are all nice!

The results are in. Seven out of ten with one exceed. No one really came close to getting them all right. I was not surprised by the exceed, and I'll review that further down the page with my thoughts. The winner of the giveaway is u1chicago with 7 correct. He guessed 9 green beans with the Connecticut not beaning. "Close but no cigar" honorable mentions, Watersport, JasonGaming, Onastone, and Au Ag all with 6 correct.
My thoughts......
1. As mentioned above, I was not surprised by the exceed on this one. I have had that coin for 6 or more years and always thought it should be in a 66RB holder.
2. I was unsure if this would bean with the contact mark at the bottom of the wheat stalks. This is a big win as it is the only (pop 1) example graded in 67.
3. To be honest, this one had a marginal chance and I knew it before hand. What is not seen in the photo is a slight smear at the hairline. Everything else about the coins screams a higher graded but I understand that CAC has to protect their brand by identifying these problems and not stickering.
4. It's a nice Bay Bridge but the 65 grade includes a mark at the rear haunches of the bear. Once again, CAC is identifying issues for their clients by not stickering.
5. I really thought the Boone might exceed sticker. It has a number of frost breaks on the obverse but not much in the way of contact marks. One of those coins that when you receive, you think it is undergraded.
6. I looked at a ton of Connecticut Commems and thought this one had a great look. The high points on the eagles reverse is a target for contact marks and this one I felt was better than most. Disappointed in this result.
7. Like the Connecticut, this San Diego has a few contact marks in 66 but I guess the above average strike on the tower put this one over the top for a bean.
8. This one was a head scratcher for me. The coin has blazing luster with few marks. Thought it was a shoe in for an exceed. The bar must be set pretty high for a common Commem like this one.
9. Not much to say on the Texas, a nice 66 with a few scattered marks earned a bean.
10. In the thread, there were a number of folks who thought the Oregon was an exceed. This was the one coin I thought was a lock to exceed. The luster is off the charts. Well struck and few marks. Disappointed even though it earned a green bean.
Thanks to everyone who participated and please share your thoughts if you wish. I'll contact u1chicago for a shipping address. Take care and stay healthy out there.
Congrats to the winner and also to the OP for a decent set of results! I actually got 6 correct, and I'll give myself an extra half a point for saying #1 should have gotten a green.
EDIT: It's shoo-in, in case you care.
Congrats to the winner. Thanks for the contest. Congrats on the results, well done.
Congrats @U1chicago and thanks for the chance @bolivarshagnasty !! What a great giveaway! And thanks for sharing pics of your choice coins!!!! My fave in that group is #7, glad it passed!!!
Nice submission. Thanks for sharing in the fun!
Well worth the submission especially if you only pay for the coins that actually get the green bean as the average success rate is around 40%. I'm assuming the pop 1 on the steel cent is the ddo. With the defects on many of the steel cents not sure that is really that rare.
Congrats to the winner, a couple of surprises but a nice submission.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
I’m surprised that the Oregon didn’t gold bean. If it ever ended up in a 66 holder, I think it would or at least should green bean.
I think that was a good submission with good results. Thanks for making it public.

seems 1 and 4 were the most difficult to predict. Nobody guessed number 1 would go gold and only 4 guessed number 4 would not pass.
