Encouraging children in coins from a YNs point of view

I was reading in CoinWorld last week about Abby Zechman who was a YN of the year recently. It mentioned she did a short presentation for the ANA on encouraging young people in the hobby. So on a lark I looked it up.
Many of the items would apply to any hobby but I found her quite articulate and concise in how she presented it. It’s only 10-11 minutes long and worth a watch if you’d like to encourage someone you know in the hobby.

For those that haven't had a chance to see it yet, Abby wrote a feature for us in the July/August Rare Coin Market Report for our YN Corner. https://www.pcgs.com/rare-coin-market-report/current
It is encouraging to see young people get excited by coins. They’re the future of our hobby.

I thought everyone knew you have to give kids their heads and just set the boundaries.
Kids have to know what they like and most kids do. Adults just forget.
Of course some kids know they don't like coins.
That is a great video. The article is good as well.... YN's are out there, no doubt about it...After all, many of us started as kids....no different now. Just most older adults are out of touch with the younger set. Cheers, RickO
One important point: allow your child/grandchild to find his own area of interest. I have had no luck getting my grandchildren to respond to the coins I have shown them from my collection and Abby offers a better approach.
