July 4th, 1861

The Civil War flag below is an original; hanging on my “l love me wall”.
It’s a 34-star flag for Kansas, admitted to the Union as a Free-State in January 29, 1861. This Flag became official on July 4th, 1861...less than 3 months from the start of the war between the states.
This Flag lasted two years and was served by only one president, Abraham Lincoln.

Fantastic piece of history. Thanks for sharing!
That's wicked cool. We all should be proud
COOL!! 🙂🙂🙂

Here's a coin that's close to that year! (Not really)
That flag is awesome!

I couldn't help but notice the images on the wall in the background, I took these photos during the first Gulf War.
I was always amazed how much ordinance the A-6's could carry!

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
That flag is a real treasure...glad to see it is framed like that and preserved. Cheers, RickO
