Probably because they're easier to fill than a 7070! I'm half tempted to fill one or two with some AG-VG examples.
This isn't vintage, copyright 1992, but has the look

They sure do jog ones memory of long ago.
Love those!
Why not do a lower grade but wholesome set????
I have done three 7070s . . . .but also have LOC, Oberwise, Wayte Raymond, and a few oddballs . . . . each are fun in their own way. I don't fill them all . . . . but maybe some day???

I bought one Whitman folder for Canadian halves recently and half of the openings were too large for the coins.
They are great old albums.... A few years ago, I was in a coin shop in Wilmington, NC.... and they had a vast inventory of all different typed of coin albums... had never seen that many - quantity, quality and types - in one location before. Yes, they had a lot of coins as well... It was a nice shop. Will have to go back there the next time I visit my daughter in Jacksonville area. Cheers, RickO
It's pretty cool to see them here again. I like
I like the Wayte Raymond best, I have a couple one lincoln lacking only the 09svdb I'm waiting to find at a reasonable price in vg-f condition and another more incomplete. They are fun and bring back memories from the 50's.
