    Gorgeous piece! Are you able to determine date and mint? I recently picked up this piece from the Catholic Kings era. If my history is correct, it would have been struck a few years before yours and on a different continent.

    My piece is a 1645/2 Sevilla 8 Escudos, so both were struck in Spain.
