I typically dont like corroded coins but this one caught my eye

A chain cent with a whole lot of meat leftover. Think there is some meat on the table too for the buyer!!

It is eye-catching. But not for anything good.
Not for me thanks
If I dug it up while MD'ing... I would be happy... However, no way I would pay that kind of money for it...Too far gone. Cheers, RickO
I'd rather leave the space empty than fill it with a coin in that condition. I'd never pay that kind of money for it.
Bidding history looks a bit funky on that.
Looks like it got a couple pushes to get a fish interested and hooked.
I might have bought that a few decades ago. Today, I'd pass. Just too hard to authenticate it when it's so far gone.

I'm a huge fan of Chains ... I've owned three. I'd have no interest in that one for anything over $500.

I wouldn't look at that coin twice.
Yet it looks like all the bidding is done by very experienced Ebayers with FB counts of 1000 to 13,000. Went to someone with nearly 5700 FB's. 4 distinct bidder numbers on this at $1800+. Those are probably mostly dealers/flippers. No amateurs here. Don't see anything "shady" on this one. Seller seems to list mostly all US large cents. So maybe they know a thing or two?
Another raw chain that I'm not sure is real
