Are you more likely to respond to public or private polls?
This is a private poll: no-one will see what you voted for.

You should have an "It doesn't matter" choice.

I'm in the doesn't matter crowd, if the poll is of interest I'll vote and respond regardless.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
It doesn't bother me either or
As well it shouldn't. But as polls should be as wide as possible, the private option includes those reluctant to choose publicly.

No matter.
Ditto
I'm more likely to respond to an interesting poll than one that isn't.

No.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
I'm more likely to read and respond to a public one. I find it more interesting to see the responses from people I know and believe people are more willing to stand behind their vote in a public poll.
I don't like that people feel confident behind a privacy screen and say things they wouldn't normally say.
Ill take the Public polls.
Do others affect your vote?
No, but seeing how others vote affects how I interpret the results.
I also find the vote indicator on subsequent posts to be useful to show the perspective of the poster.
I ....should.... have asked, "Do others affect ..WHETHER.. you vote?
My bad.
Do you mean whether the presence of votes affects my propensity to vote? That doesn't really affect me.
I'm more likely to vote if I feel my vote will add to the discussion.
No matter...

This.
I respond to both, as I am not afraid to voice my opinion.

No, they do not. But I always look to see how many others agree with me.

I like to answer the question using my own words. Checking a box is too limited.

Me too. I always back up my opinion with an explanation, anyway, so people know my thinking.

As a preliminary matter, it depends on the subject. Some polls just fail to capture my interest

It really doesn't matter to me... I did check private because there were only two choices....Cheers, RickO
doesn't matter, unless the question and answer revealed personal or confidential info
I like public polls. I like to see who voted like me who’s right

I considered "Blast white" as a choice but figured it would roil the waters more than it did anyway.
Is this a trick question? Polls are always wrong. I know because I have never been polled. Although I have hung up on a few callers.
I’m less likely to respond to polls generally because the options are usually limited and don’t always fit.
Of course it's a trick question. That's why I made it private so responses can't be held against any posters.
Which seems to be a concern of more than I would have guessed.
