Robec, I've had several packages shipped USPS with tracking just stop in their tracks for over 2 weeks. While I appreciate your concern, I think you may be running into a "covid delay". In both cases I started a lost package search through the USPS web site and after a week or so they moved along again.
Hope this helps (you sleep tonight).
If you do what you always did, you get what you always got.
Don't give up yet. I had one Ebay sale - 30 days to get to me. I now have a BST sale, 30 days from SC to Detroit - still waiting. Its really screwed up out there.

They’re not scanning like they use to. One went from accepted to out for delivery today. Two others marked accepted now nothing else. One is cheap. One has me throwing out underwear.
My underwear soiling package was scanned today about 30 miles from destination at 8am. Still one leg to go. I want to thank the person who scanned my package for saving me a 3 pack of underpants.
To all those who have received their packages weeks or months after all information stopped did tracking/scanning appear just prior to delivery or did the package just show up unexpectedly?
In my case it showed up unexpectedly. I had looked at the tracking info a few days after amazon declared it lost and there was nothing. No info, nothing. Then one day I saw it at my front door. I then looked at tracking and saw it showed up again. No explanation for delay. Just showed delivered.

Typically, it gets at least one scan (or more) when it gets to the delivery station.
I've actually had 2 foreign packages take MONTHS to arrive. I actually refunded the two buyers who then paid me again when they finally got the items. [For those that think everyone is trying to scam you.]
In the last two weeks, I had a 1st class envelope returned to me as undeliverable even though the address was confirmed by the customer. I sent it back out to see what happens.
I also had a 1st class package go missing for 4 days. I filed a locate mail request with USPS and 12 hours later it got scanned again.
Most stuff still goes through fine, but there does seem to be a higher incidence of delays and odd routings. I have had zero packages go permanently missing during the pandemic out of about 350 shipped.
Mine is showing the usual "on its way to the next destination" that is posted with the current date - each day, despite it going nowhere or scanned in the last 4 days.

Here's tracking on 1 priority package I sent out that disappeared for 12 days.
Also had another take 23 days to go from Chicago to Michigan.

Sorry that you may have a loss. Types of risk are often underestimated or not apparent. Was 18 important coins from your #5 Registry set in 1 package too much risk?

I do not know your intentions, but I do not think this is the appropriate time to ask such questions.
Best of luck to you, Robec.

Yes, it certainly it was a risk. There are 140 coins in the set ........this submission contained 15 of them (5 new to the set). I am within 2 submissions of being finished sending my Lincoln set to CAC. All my MPL's and Mercury dimes have previously been sent and returned.
I have sent and received hundreds of packages via the USPS and until this last package have never had one lost or stolen. I had a high degree of confidence I would have no trouble with this package other than it might take a few days longer. I'm still hoping for a safe, albeit late, return.
But the post says to disregard the post. So if I disregard the disregard, I have to pay attention. But paying attention means disregarding. And if I'm disregarding then I'm not disregarding the post....

So sorry Bob - I'm optimistic it will turn up since it's a larger package. You would think they would concerned about employee theft. My package was missing for 5 months and unexpectedly showed up one day. The barcode was damaged.

Just as soon as tracking sends a new update or even better, the package gets delivered I will update the thread.
You're actually in a better position now than myself and another forum member here. At least you don't see the dreaded DELIVERED status with no package in sight. That's when you really have to worry. You still have hope, because it may have just missed a few scans along the way.
As it turned out for us, someone in the USPS scanned the package at a different location than the delivery address and then stole it (we were able to prove the differing location with help from another USPS employee). It appears the USPS employee or someone down the road sold at least one coin to a pawn shop for pennies on the dollar. Still investigating, but with pawn shops mostly closed it's been slow.

It should reappear via tracking a day or two prior to delivery.
The issue is just with rapid mailing options, as I got a 1st Class shipment on Monday which was mailed Saturday 2,500 miles away.
