"yberty" 1974 cent?

Hi.

Saw this coin (not mine) where the L in Liberty seem a upside down Y.
Couldn't find any information about it, if it's fake or whatever.
Any ideas are welcome.

    No photo, but it's probably just
    a contact mark aka: "Hit" that
    split the letter, making it look
    like an upside down Y.

    Not an error, based on your description
    and no photo of it.

    Using my imagination, I agree that it is damage.

    A coin is struck from a working die, which is made using a working hub, which is made using a master die, which is made from the Master Hub (and that can remain unchanged for years). LIBERTY and the other letters are all on the master hub, so it would not be possible for the working die to be made with a wrong letter in Liberty.
