Is there a known DD for this date/MM? Does this one match?

Flat and no evidence of split seriphs. Mechanical or Die deterioration doubling. You can always check potential doubled dies on

The coin is in interesting condition.

A majority of quarters in circulation are beat up like this now days but few have so little wear AND are beaten up.

I'm guessing it sat out of circulation as an AU for many years (accounting for the stain) and then circulated heavily for the last few.

Most quarters in high end XF aren't beaten up too badly. They get this damage from being used primarily in machines and they get wear primarily from what we consider normal use; passing hand to hand and bouncing around in pockets and purses.

    Tempus fugit.
