This is not a newp, I’ve had it since 2013. I’ve never photographed it until the other day. I figured you guys might appreciate seeing it.
100% hand made in every aspect. The work is phenomenal.
And cool that it was retailed at Spaulding & Co in Chicago.
I have Pristo’s book and this one was made in March of 1905. I forget it’s actual birth date

@asheland .... Don't tell me you picked it up in a thrift store.... Cheers, RickO
No! lol I wish! I actually had to pay up for this one, almost 2 grand.
But it's a fine piece and I'm proud to have an example...

Nice looking piece. Where's the market for something like that?
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
So it is hand hammered? Sweet piece!
Not really sure at the moment, they are so hit and miss, I would imagine they are down like a lot of collector coins...

Completely made with a hammer and anvil, etc. Totally hand made by a silversmith.

Cool piece
@asheland did you know the original design sketch survives?
I only know this because I own a bon bon dish marked H/MG made 20 days later, with the chasing (i.e. hammering of the design into the silver) done by the same chaser. Note the similar flower.
The sketches for my bowl also survive, and while the shape of the actual bowl aligns with the drawing, the design does not. I had your sketch on my computer because I felt like the chaser used elements from the flower design on your bowl on mine as well. Of course, I did not know it was your bowl!

@philographer That is AWESOME! Where did you find those sketches?

The Gorham Manufacturing Company Archive is at Brown University. Some is online. I've heard most is in long term cold storage sitting in a container in VA or NC (may be a rumor).

Once you click the link above, look or the "Brown Digital Repository" and click the link.
Here's the direct link to your bon bon dish. You can download a high resolution version. Would look good framed over your dish!
