Canada, and its provinces in the pre-Confederation era, has issued some wonderful coinage. I adore it and try to see as many pieces as possible.

Canadian silver tones in some spectacular rainbow hues at a fraction of what a US coin would cost. Nice purchase! I’m betting it won’t be your last. 😀

I've been collecting Canadian PL coinage for a long time. I prefer ICCS grading as they are tougher than PCGS in my opinion. Some of the pieces have appreciated quite a bit over time as they became more recognized as bargains.
Here is one of the coins I sold. NGC MS65 - old fatty holder. Sure has PL qualities in my mind. Paid $90 in 2003.

I bought one of those 1973 RCMP commems when they came out in 1973. :*

The cases back then were a plush style and had a rigid plastic insert that held the coin, which was not in a capsule. Then there was a piece of foam on top of the coin to keep it in place.

Since the coins were shipped reverse side up, unless the collector flipped the coin over, the inverse stayed clean and the reverse got some heavy toming just like yours shows, with lots of blues and purples.

Several years later the coins were placed in a capsule within the case, so the foam-inspired toning ceased.
