They are both PCGS Coins. I seem to remember you doing quite well with a Lafayette dollar in an NGC holder that you crossed to PCGS. I get your point though that if you buy a coin in a NGC holder and pay up for it you might take a haircut.

The Lafayette was purchased in a NGC holder no sticker and I paid up for it. I paid PCGS money. When I was shopping it around years later literally every dealer I showed it to said, “ great coin but I would like it better in a PCGS holder”. Eventually I crossed it to PCGS, had it stickered and eventually got a 66+. I firmly believe if that sequence didn’t happen I would have realized 5 to 7K less. It is what it is.

These two coins aside, the presence (or lack) of a CAC sticker on gold has an entirely different significance than it does for copper, silver, or nickel.
From my experience, JA won't sticker the majority of gold coins at any grade.
I love saints but a big part of the reason I don't own a HR is because the grading appears inconsistent or I'm just not able to figure it out. (I need to see more in hand)
Anyway....Here is a TV of the 63 CAC
The big scrape on the sun has me a little turned off along with the marks on the obverse & reverse rim.
The 64 just looks rather dingy and unimpressive but it could be that the holder is in bad shape.
If I did buy one, it would be a flat rim because they generally look better after the improved 3-piece collar.
I'd go with the 64 if this was the only information I could judge the purchase on.

I think it’s important to consider what you’ll be able to sell a five figure coin for down the road before buying it. I’m not a coin investor and this is strictly a hobby for me, but I want to to avoid a giant haircut if I ever do sell a coin.

based solely upon the pictures, what would you grade and what value would you assign to each coin?
I wouldn't do that to myself, I would need to see a raw coin like this in-hand.
