    30 or so years ago I dealt with a dealer who called that type of toning "railroad" toning. Supposedly, that is what coins that were subjected to the coal burning emissions of steam engines would look like if they were used in certain locations near rail depots over time. It is a type of toning I like one day but don't like the next. Today I like it.
