Benny Haimovitz, RIP

I hadn't heard from Benny for awhile, and noticed he hadn't posted here since last August. So I googled his name today, and found this sad news:

His account here is @Voyageur, and he went by greysoldier46 on eBay.
Rest in peace, Benny. You are missed.

So sorry to hear that. Never met in person but traded with him. He enjoyed collecting.
This is sad news....RIP.

Super nice guy, he added some really nice medals/overstrikes to my Carr collection. Always pleasant to chat with and very fair deals.
Bummer. RIP benny

Sorry to hear. I remember his forum name,
I read the brief obituary. A career in the military and then one in social work. Another part of our lives, such as what we persue here, will pribably remain a secret to the rest of the world for most of us.
RIP Benny, he was a good man, treated everybody with respect.
Condolences to family and friends. RickO

Super nice man. He gave me a 10th Anniversary medal designed by Daniel Carr when I joined the KotCT group in 2017. RIP Voyageur!

Benny and I traded quite a bit, and he sold me stuff when I ran out of coins to trade.

RIP too young! I remember when 73 was really, really old. I have two guys that work for me that are 68, and have no idea how I'll replace them if they ever retire.
I knew Benny.....not real well, but a real nice guy. RIP Benny.
I also so enjoyed his "Cracked, Shattered & Terminal" column in the eGobrecht each month.
He gave me his insight and experience into really cool stuff, all for only the $25 LCCS fee. His column alone was worth the price of admission.
I was always hoping that he would get to the 1875-CC BF-1 & the 1875-S BF-16 double dimes. I hope someone else continues his column.
Sad to hear. Sounds like a good guy that left too young at 73, though I didn't know him.
Just noticed on his activity page that he is at 997 points which I think just misses 5 stars by 3 points.
Maybe those who knew him may want to do the honor of putting it over the top by adding an Agree of Like to one of his posts.
This might be an appropriate one:

Here is his activity page. He was nearly a 16 year member here:

It's sad. Our "coin thing" has lost another irreplaceable member. And the knowledge that hasn't been learned by all of us is also gone.
Rest well.
Pete
What an amazing idea: thank you!
Thank you again, @WinLoseWin

I wrote a little remembrance to Benny that was put into this month's e-Gobrecht.

Wow same year my father was born.
Wow. His last login here was on August 18, 2019 and he left us on September 21, 2019. I picked up these 2017 Dan Carr @dcarr Moonlight Mint Open House pieces from him on August 25, 2019 and he shipped them out the next day. This must have been one of the last orders he filled.
Thanks for posting your pieces from Benny @robec and @felinfoel.
Let's keep his memory alive.
Rest in peace Benny.
Benny loved the Owls, he always looked forward to each years new release.
I was lucky and got this one from him.
