Anyone get anything?

Everything I wanted went for double moon money!

This market has to come back to earth.... Doesn’t it?

I got 2, a Carlos & Juana 1 real, and an 1870 peso. Both went above expected, but their expected prices were too low (a Durango Hookneck at 1250 to 2000 on AU58? Really? Nobody would imagine that and the sale price of 4500 I think is not out of what I would have expected). I think it was fair for those those coins. But a lot of the lots I saw sold for incredible premiums. The 2 and 4 maravedies went sky high. Both "my coins" were sold at my highest bid and if overbid, I wouldn't have bid again.

I too won mine at max bid. Strong market!

Nothing here. Was thinking of throwing a few bids in case the 1776 8E went reasonably. It did not.

Anyone like or buy that Hookneck 8R?

It's not just the general market - the past few Sedwick auctions have brought some really high prices, esp. in his bread-and-butter cob/wreck area. Look at, for example, the "Consolacion" wreck pieces... fairly common and not a particularly exciting provenance, crummy condition as usual for this wreck, all selling for $300+ incl. juice. Lot 297 - just generic 1715 Fleet (no important cert), undated, meh condition - $350 total. Lot 304 brought $3100 w/BP... to be fair, really nice piece, full 1714 date... sold at Morton & Eden for £550 + BP just last fall (actually only two weeks after they did the Hubbard sale). Run-of-the-mill Vliegenthart 1732 - this wreck produced a ton of them - $400. 1712 Lima 8E - the common date - graded AU58 (subdued cross side) - $19K!!

Abuelo - $1500 for that 4 Maravedis... Late Series and nice but not amazing?? Very strong.

And look at what some of the jewelry stuff brought this evening!!

I bought a few cheap things for stock and the ones below for my collection. The few major pieces on my hit list all got away from me.

So you got the 1824 @MrEureka ... I bid on it but went to high for my budget. Congratulations.
